We are facing the worst pandemic of the decade and till now we don't even have a vaccination to this.
Yes, I am talking about the Corona/ COVID-19 virus attack, cases are increasing rapidly in India. The only way this time to be safe is to be at home and wash or sanitize your hands frequently. During this lockdown, I and my sir made an automatic sanitizer dispenser for the office, and the cost of the dispenser is way less than the automatic dispenser available in the market.
Materials and components required:-
🔯 Submersible Pump
🔯 Infrared / Proximity sensor
🔯 TIP 32C PNP transistor
🔯 1Kohm Resistor
🔯 USB cable
🔯 5V Mobile Charger Adaptor
🔯 Bottle or Can
🔯 Plastic Pipe Tube
🔯 Male / Female connecting Wires
Above are the materials required for making your own dispenser at home. Most of them are available online on many websites. We ordered it from amazon.in and you can try other websites and the components price and availability may differ according to the region or area.
Wiring and Connection:- Starting From the USB cable, Take an USB cable Cut the other end of the cable as we only want USB 2.0A, strip down the insulator you will find two-wire in the USB cable RED and BLACK. Now take the Red cable and join it to Emitter pin of TIP32 Transistor and carry out the same connection further to the VCC terminal of Infrared sensor, also known as a Proximity sensor. Further, connect a wire to the OUT (OUTPUT) terminal of the Infrared sensor and connect it to one end of the 1K ohm resistor and connect the other end of the resistor to the base pin of the TIP32. Now moving ahead make the ground of submersible pump, USB and sensor common, connect a wire to GND (ground) terminal of the sensor, and connect the wire to black wire of the pump and the only cable left from USB, Then connect a wire from Middle pin C of the transistor to red cable of the pump.
Refer to the diagram below which shows the proper connection of wires.
Connection Diagram
How to specify the Base B, Collector C, Emitter E pin of the transistor, Looking at the transistor from the front there is a notch on the transistor, starting from the notch the very first pin from the notch is the B and the second pin is C and the last pin is E. Refer the image below

Now after done with connection take your pump and attach a pipe to pump then take a plastic or glass bottle, if the bottleneck is big enough that the pump goes inside then dip the pump or cut down a hole in the upper portion of the bottle so that the pump passes through, bring the other end of pipe out of the bottleneck so it can dispense the material the submersible pump will pump-out and you are done you have made your own Sanitizer dispenser. You can adjust the sensing range of the Infrared with the regulator given on the infrared sensor
Below is the Images of Sanitizer dispenser I have made use of your creativity for you and make a good Sanitizer dispenser.
