Love Cycling and planning to purchase a new bicycle, but confused about where to buy a cheap one?
I am here to clear your confusion and will also suggest some sites from where can crack a deal and get your bicycle at an affordable rate.
ONLINE Market vs OFFLINE Market:-
For buying a bicycle people often prefer a bicycle shop which may cause extra cost, but when you search the same bicycle online, then you may notice a price difference because the dealers add courier charges and assembling charges to it. I too wanted a bicycle at cheap rates, so I too preferred a local dealer. First, I wanted to buy a used second-hand cycle; the dealer priced an Avon cycle for Rs.2200 which was not so good, and for the new Single Speed bicycle the fixed rate ranging from 5,500 - 8,000Rs, the Geared bicycle was above 8K.
Then I went to Famous Cycle dealer Track and Trail, which is a dealer company by Hercules cycles and their brands. They had a dealership of many branded cycle companies like Montra, Mach City, Roadeo, and BSA. The Cycle's quality and looks were excellent, but also the prices were on a high side. Then I decided I would buy a new cycle online and that too under 5k budget.
I went to every cycle company website and looked out for the cycle of my choice, but many of them only sell on their dealership outlet. So I searched in google for Indian local cycle manufacturers. And found websites of Avon, Atlas, Hero, etc I scrolled down and found a company I have never heard of which was "Leaderbicycle.com". Then I started my research about the company reputation and their brands. They are not famous for their product, but when I checked in to their website, I saw some cool bicycles at some reasonable price. I searched on maps if this company is genuine and found it is with some good and bad reviews. So I headed towards their website to read actual product reviews and found some positive customer reviews. So I thought of buying a bicycle from this website, which cost 4,800Rs but for security, I tried contacting them, unfortunately, they didn't reply but that day in the evening I received a phone call from leader cycle and the person asked if I was planning to purchase a bicycle. The person suggested me some models and asked to check out their website,
I went to the company's website and booked a "Bruce 26T single speed" cycle, later on I got to know they have a condition that a person purchasing a bicycle from their website has to pay an advance payment of 1500Rs and the rest on delivery. I was in doubt if I should complete the payment or opt for a different website like Amazon or Flipkart, But I played the gamble and done the payment and was waiting for my order to be delivered and the best thing was there were no delivery charges, there was a delay in dispatch but I got my order delivered on the right date.
I received the bicycle which was 80% assembled and the rest is to be assembled by the owner. I received the cycle; I unboxed it, assembled it, and I liked the bicycle it was for adults and was unisex. The only thing I felt bad was they didn't provide a toolkit for assembling the cycle. I contacted them through mail they said the package should contain Allen keys and wrenches but unfortunately; I didn't receive any.
